We CLYNK for the outdoors!

What is Chewonki? It’s an experiential/outdoor experiences trip at an educational camp in Wiscassett, ME., taken by 6th graders every year. When you CLYNK, the returnable funds from your cans and bottles goes directly into an account set up for each class (the tag on the bag is specific to a class.) By CLYNKing, the cost to families is reduced for the trip.

To find out more about Chewonki you can visit their website.

Our CLYNK program has proven results with over $47,000 raised in returnables since 2009. Specially tagged CLYNK bags are available through the homeroom teachers. Take as many as you like, and all money will go to benefit the outdoor programming for your grade.

  • Give bags to family members
  • Take bags to a neighborhood party
  • Have Mom & Dad take bags to work

Fill the bags with returnable bottles and cans (no more than 20lbs please) and return them to ANY CLYNK (Hannaford) location in Maine.

What happens to CLYNK funds earned after Chewonki?

They stay with each class! All of our CLYNK bags are labeled with a specific grade label – so classes can keep earning funds after 6th grade. These funds are then used to help pay for their 8th grade celebration, and anything left follows them on into high school!
