Event Volunteer Opportunities
7th & 8th Semi-Formal Dance — Entry Fee Collectors (4-6 people)
Help welcome students at the door on the night of the Semi-Formal. You’ll collect entry fees for the student council, check entry lists, and keep the line moving. Only 1-2 hours!
8th Grade Dinner/Dance — Chaperones (4-6 people)
Help make the 8th grade’s last big CEMS celebration one to remember. Chaperones keep an eye on the room, help with logistics, and generally make sure everyone has a great time. One evening commitment.
Basketball Bonanza
One of CEMS’s most beloved community events! It’s a fun, low-key evening of basketball and community. We need help with setup, running the event, and cleanup.
Book Fair
More details coming soon!
Cape Challenge
Our annual 5K fundraiser, run in partnership with the Pond Cove and CEHS parent associations. Volunteers help with registration, course support, and the finish line. A fun morning in late May, no running required on your part. 😉
Harvest Fest / Haunted Hallway
One of the fall’s most anticipated community events. We occasionally need volunteers for setup, running activity booths, the Haunted Hallway, and cleanup. Family-friendly!
Teacher Appreciation
Help us celebrate the CEMS staff throughout the year from the Welcome Back Luncheon to Teacher Appreciation Week in early May. Volunteers assist with planning, food coordination, decorating the staff lounge, and more.
Please read the CESD Volunteer Handbook for more information on how to get started with volunteering inside our schools.

If you’re in 5th or 6th grade and wondering whether a board position might be for you down the road, reach out. There’s no commitment required to learn more. The best time to get familiar is before you’re thrown in the deep end!
