Teacher Grant Information

The MSPA funds innovative and creative educational projects and activities which fall outside of the normal school budget. Teachers may submit an application form to Principal Sarah Rubin for her review. The MSPA will then vote on requests at the next MSPA meeting.

The MSPA works hard to fund the abundance of grant requests being made by the Middle School faculty and staff. Maintaining the tradition of supplementing the educational experience for all of our students is our number one goal. With more and more now falling outside of the school budget, the MSPA is seeing a sharp increase in the number of requests.

We would like to thank everyone who participates in the MSPA fundraisers for your generous support. The funds we raise make a real difference in showing support for the Middle School teachers and staff and in creating a more positive learning environment for all Middle School students.

Guidelines: The purpose of the grant program is to provide funding for innovative faculty and staff projects, ideas and opportunities that would not otherwise be funded by the school budget. There is no such thing as a grant too small. The MSPA encourages requests even if the amount is less than $100. Grants that are larger in dollar amounts (e.g., anything over $600) should benefit a greater portion of Middle School students. All funds need to be used in the current year; therefore, grants will not be carried over.

Procedures

  1. Complete the form and submit to Sarah Rubin, CEMS Principal.
  2. Principal reviews grant requests and completes the bottom portion of the form.
  3. Principal or applicant emails the scanned grant request no later than Friday prior to MSPA monthly meeting to Grants Co-Chairs Heather Reeves or Heidi Shephard.
  4. MSPA grant chair(s) present grants during monthly meetings.
  5. MSPA decides to approve, partially fund, deny or further review mini-grant.
  6. MSPA grant chair(s) will notify staff and provide information necessary to get funding.
  7. Should circumstances demand a grant decision prior to regularly scheduled monthly meeting, MSPA officers may act on the request so long as it does not exceed an amount of $300. All other procedures shall be followed, and the grant chair(s) will report the action to the MSPA.

Questions: Any questions can be sent to MSPA Grants Co-Chairs Heather Reeves or Heidi Shephard or MSPA Board President (president@capemspa.org).
